Sierra College Training & Development, a college division that provide s customized work force development help to Placert and Nevada County employers and manufacturerse throughoutNorthern California, secured the grant from the , a news releasde said Wednesday. The moneu will be used to provide customized traininv inprocess improvement, quality management and mechatroniczs technical skills to high-growthn businesses.
Farsighted businesses see this as a greag time totrain staff, Sandra Scott, directodr of Sierra College’s Grant Development and Career Technical said in the “By developing employees’ skills during the these businesses will be well positionede to take advantage of opportunitiez when the economy she said. The grant will allow more than 250 employeees to learn technical skills and tools that canincreass businesses’ competitiveness. The Responsive Training Fund for Incumbent Workersx willmatch companies’ commitmenr to training, the release said. Participatingt employers include Comtek ComputerSystems Inc.
