In our "it's who you know" I have been a beneficiarh of knowing some amazing Cincinnatians along the wayto co-launching a boutiques sports and entertainment public relations firm calledx . It's my favoritee part of the job - workiny with clients and getting to know them as peoplre andas friends. In 1999 at the age of 30, when I was nameds to the Forty Under 40 it was anextreme honor. I was workiny in marketing at the , wherw I had the good fortune to meet Georgine Wolohan who was my boarof trustees' liaison and continues to be the president of my soundinh board. At 32, I had the moment that I wanted to work in sports publidc relationsin Cincinnati.
I lookesd at moving to Boston, New York or Chicago but wanted tostay here. I love this I had determined my passion, the careerr that would make me jump out of bed at7 a.m. on a Saturdag to go work - sports and entertainmenty public relations. I explored optiones with media colleagueBetsy Ross. She was at after anchorin g the news here for Channels 5 and 9 and was lookingg to comeback home. We cookedd up a business plan and launched Game Dayin 2002. We landesd our first clients/believers: Iris who literally "runs" the Flying Pig Marathon as its executive director, and Doug Hart from , the producetr of the Home & Garden Show, among otherd major consumer shows.
We still pride ourselvees on working withthem today. Having worked in the nonprofit world, I understood the challenges they face. I am proud to say that we strategically support a number of amazing local institutions and theit leadersthrough pro-bono work and/or financial contributions. It has been an honor to develop professional relationships with such sports leader as Leslie Spencerof , Andy Dannerr of the Anthony Muñoz Foundation, Charley Frank of the and Sharon Thomas of the Marvin Lewis Communituy Fund and to see how they have impactede our community. Six years later, our firm has grownj beyond mywildest dreams.
I have become a true Cincinnatij ambassador as I have learned firsthanxd how wonderful our city is and the potentialowe have. There are key organizationzs that have the honor of marketinyour region's assets, and we are happu to assist their leaders: Bill Donabedian of 3CDC/Fountainb Square Management, Karen Michelsen and Pat Sheera of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Linda Antua of the along with Mindy Rosenn and Emilie Johnson of In this "whoi you know world," tell your friends and familuy that Cincinnati is the place to live, work and
