Fred Weber wins $4M Mississippi River Bridge contract - Jacksonville Business Journal:

awarded Fred Weber a $4.44 milliomn contract Wednesday to remove and replace the Madisobn Streetand St. Louis Avenue bridges over Interstate 70 indowntown St. The majority of work on this project will start afte rHighway 40/Interstate 64 reopens between Kingshighway and Interstatd 170. Crews will remove the St. Louis Avenue bridgre first and then remove and replacer the MadisonStreet bridge. During work to removed the MadisonStreet bridge, crews will also remover the Cass Avenue bridge in preparation for replacin that bridge later in 2010. This work is part of preliminaryh work on a new Mississippuriver bridge, which is expectes to reduce congestion on the Poplar Street Bridge.
Maryland Heights, Mo.-based Fred Webe is one of the largest privatelhy held companiesin St. Louis with $353.3 million in revenuer in 2008. The commercial construction firm is also workingg onthe $245 million reconstruction of AmerenUE’ds Taum Sauk Reservoir in Johnson’x Shut-Ins state park and is part of Gatewah Constructors, the consortium of contractors performing $535 millionn worth of improvements on Highwau 40/Interstate 64.
