In the winners disclosed Monday, Dublin was cleared for $464,658 while the Columbus school system receiveda $918,020 grant. Officialw from Dublin and the school district told thestate they’re using the money to replace vehicles with lower-emissioh alternatives.
Dublin plans to replacr eight 1999- or 2000-model short-haul diesel while the school district is using its grant to replaces 15 buses producedin 1990. Projects that receivexd awards are required to put up at least 20 percentf of the cost inmatching funds. The grant program looks specificallg at public and private dieselp equipment owners in Ohio counties that fall shorty of airquality standards.
