Cheryl Dorman, West Coast Bank vice presidentand Tualatin-Sherwood branch managerd received the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year The Oregon Tourism Commission announced severall 2008 Tourism and Hospitality Industry Achievemenft Awards. The Governor’s Tourism Award was presented to Bonnie Lippityt for her contributions throughoutthe state, including: Oregom Birding Trails, Oregon Scenic Oregon Scenic Byways, Central Cascadesx Geotourism Initiative (with National Geographic) and Sustainable Tourism Advisory The 2008 Tourism and Hospitality Industry Achievement Awards were announcex in these categories: The Gene Leo Memoriap Award was presented to Mt.
Ashland Ski Area for its Youtj SummerService Program, which provides teens an opportunity to learn about the mountain environment through hands-on projects and coordinated fieled study. The Creative Tourism Development Award was givebn to Travel Salem andCorvallis Tourism. The Volunteer Achievement Award was presented to David and Shirlehy Bridgham for their leadership managingythe “Holiday Lights” volunteers at Shore Acres. The Partnership Award was presented toCoos Bay-North Bend-Charleston Olympiv Trials Partnership, which secured premium booth placemenyt at Eugene 08 and promoted the area by highlightin g its connection to Steve Prefontaine.
The Sustainable Touriskm Award was presented to Full SailBrewing Co. for its commitment to The Heritage Tourism Award was given to Mission Hill Museumjfor “Facing Statehood,” a sesquicentennialo exhibition that reflects on the yearsx leading up to Oregon’s admissiom to the Union as the 33rd state. Outsidre In in Portland elected Darci Swindelld to the boardof directors.
